Role synopsis. The Subsea Quality Lead (QL) will coordinate Quality Management for the GPO GoM Subsea Program projects and drive conformance to BPs Quality Management process. The QL will perform active Quality assurance in design, engineering, procurement, equipment manufacturing, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and hand over activities for the projects or scopes assigned and actively interface with the BP team, contractors, and suppliers to verify implementation and effectiveness of Quality processes. The QL will be responsible for implementing and contributing to the Subsea Program Quality Management Plan and new Topsides Program Quality Management Plan and will report to the Subsea Program Quality Manager.. QL will be responsible for developing the project quality objectives for moderately large projects or programs. This includes writing and maintaining the project Quality Plan and establishing a structured Project Quality Management System across the project/operations. The Project Quality Management System must be in conformance with BPs quality management processes, and ensure compliance throughout the different project functions. Also, provides guidance, advice and training to the project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to ensure a deep understanding of the projects quality objectives.Key accountabilities. Contributes to the program-level Quality Plans in alignment with the GPO Quality Management Practice and Project Execution Plans.. Serves as the Quality specialist over the execution of the program-level Quality Plans and related decisions regarding the validation and fulfilment of Quality requirements.. Implements Quality processes and/or procedures that provide details/explanation for delivering checks, validations, witness, and verifications as required by the assurance activity.. Applies and agrees specifications, test/acceptance criteria, and surveillance standards, for the project system and components from the BP Engineering Manager, Discipline Engineers, and Technical Authorities.. Interfaces with PSCM when POs are issued by BP to ensure Quality requirements are clear and unambiguous in contracts with vendors.. Reviews and approves contractor/supplier Quality Plans and ITPs consistent with contractual and BP requirements.. Implements a Quality assurance process of the EPMS/EPCI contractors vendor inspection and surveillance processes and Quality assessment/audit plans based on approved criticality ratings, past performance, and other associated risks.. Participates in contractor-led internal and supplier audits or conducts separate BP assessments/audits as needed of key project processes.. Prepares and communicates associated assessment/audit reports of identified findings and observations and tracks related corrective actions to closure.. Ensures appropriate risk-based Quality assurance is done across the supply chain regarding Quality Plans, Quality control processes, surveillance, factory acceptance tests, and supplier spot checks.. Develops and maintains Quality budgets for third party inspection activities and interfaces with other project team members as needed regarding forecasts, estimates, and expenses.. Ensures BP third party inspectors are qualified and competent to cover a specific scope of work prior to mobilizing to site and reviews inspection reports to ensure completeness and necessary actions are taken to resolve reported Quality issues, NCRs, etc.. Utilizes Quality KPIs and project metrics to capture and relay critical information to project personnel regarding Quality activities.. Implements a corrective action process that identifies, documents, and resolves all issues pertaining to fulfilling Quality requirements.. Provides Quality input into associated project assurance reviews.. Facilitates the implementation of previous project lessons and the identification and sharing of new lessons learned during existing projects.. Networks with the GPO Quality Community of Practice to ensure standardization of Quality processes, procedures, and standards and the sharing of lessons.. Essential Education. A minimum of a bachelors degree.. Essential experience and job requirements. Experience in oil and gas projects and an understanding of the major project stage-gate governance processes.. Experience with developing and implementing a Quality Plan across a multi-disciplined project or a regional program.. Experience in performing Quality assurance activities and coordinating third-party inspections.. Detailed understanding of contractor/supplier Inspection and Test Plans based on criticality and supply chain risks.. Ability to establish and lead risk-based Quality assessments/audits.. High initiative, self-motivation, and effective influencing, verbal, and written skills.. Demonstrates leadership and promotes open & effective communication.. Desirable criteria and qualifications. Project management skills, experience managing contractors, commercial awareness, and strong personal HSSE commitment.. Experience in metrology, non-destructive examination, welding inspection, coatings inspection, and general inspection methods.
