Research and Development Process Engineer SW Houston Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking a Research and Development Process Engineer for our client s technology center in southwest Houston. In this role, you will lead and manage process technology projects including scale-up from the laboratory scale, through the pilot scale, and into commercial implementation. Additional projects will involve new process technology implementation into manufacturing, and process optimization. Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead process research and development programs for a wide variety of products in support of business strategy.
  • Develop process technology and support implementation through manufacturing and commercialization.
  • Design and develop programs to facilitate new process development and improve existing processes.
  • Provide expertise in key technology areas to support manufacturing in process implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Document technical findings through internal technical reports, patents, and external publications.
  • Understands process chemistry and its impact on chemical processes.

Job Requirements:

  • BS in Chemical Engineering (Due to my client s organizational structure, Ph.D. candidates cannot be considered for this opportunity).
  • 5 to 10 years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, preferably with batch reactor experience and pilot plants.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in process modeling tools such as ASPEN.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate ideas in research, operations and commercial environments.

This is a temporary assignment with the possibility of being hired by our customer based on business needs. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift.
