The Business Development Team is seeking a motivated Evaluations Engineer or Senior Analyst to be part of an enthusiastic and focused team.

Reporting to the Manager of Evaluations in Corp Business Development (currently vacant), the successful candidate will join the team in its responsibilities to evaluate and execute on asset and basin evaluations. Strategic thinking, project management, communication, and the ability to thrive within a dynamic team environment are key requirements of this position. Within Business Development, projects make up a large portion of the workload.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, screen and present potential strategic acquisition & divestiture opportunities.
  • Conduct economic evaluations leveraging both internal and public data for various non-ECA assets.
  • Serve on and potentially lead on multi-disciplinary project teams that are ultimately accountable for the successful execution of full process, A&D projects .
  • Interface with a variety of corporate functions, such as Exploration, Strategy, Tax, Midstream & Marketing, Land and Legal.
  • Serve as the point of contact with external financial advisors and reserves evaluators.
  • Preparation and the presentation of materials to senior management, including the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Monitor peer activity and performance in basins of interest.
  • Financial reporting and project updates related to A&D activity.
  • Qualifications

  • Ability to work in ECA s US evaluations software (Aries).
  • Engineering roles in reservoir characterization, development or previous evaluations experience is a definite asset.
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering is an asset.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and business skills.
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas economics with the ability to evaluate A&D opportunities.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment in making balanced decisions.
  • Takes initiative and provides informal leadership in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and advance multiple projects concurrently.
  • Consistently work with integrity and honesty.
  • Ability to travel between Denver, Houston and Calgary as needed (typically every other month for 2-3 days, unless specific projects dictate more frequent travel).
