GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

:

A person in this position is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture chemical batches and for handling hazardous waste according to written procedures and maintaining required log sheets.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate equipment, including tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses to manufacture batches of chemical products.
Measures quantities of liquid and solid chemicals using scales and flow meters, and transfer the chemicals into tanks.
Locate materials in the warehouse and transport to manufacturing areas using a forklift.
Collect process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for analysis.
Maintain required log sheets including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation log, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections.
Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of topics.
Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers.
Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 standards.
Maintain housekeeping standards in work area.
Adheres to all corporate, plant and safety policies/procedures.
Operate a forklift as applicable.
Perform inventory cycle counts.
Wear personal protective equipment as applicable.
Completes all assigned training including corporate, HSE and Quality related.
Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

It is required that the suitable candidate for this position will possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.

Preferred candidates will possess:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of applicable experience; chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification (24 Hour and Annual 8 Hour refresher).
