Job Description
We will be looking for a good indication of customer service experience and some retail background or experience would be helpful but not 100% necessary, but it is helpful if they've worked with POS systems before.

The most important thing is that they are \"customer savvy , know how to communicate with a client properly because Nordstrom is very conscious of this. They must be able to communicate and then it will be helpful if they have a few years of experience working in retail. That's not mandatory though, I'll take someone that is very eager and customer savvy that can learn.
PC/ Desktop Support
  • Facilitate in store whole unit swap (multiple builds and configurations) or field replaceable Lenovo components (hard drive, fan and memory); spare units and components provided by Nordstrom.
  • Application software support for resolving incidents or fulfilling requests that cannot be facilitated remotely
  • Network Connectivity troubleshooting
  • Installs, Moves, Adds, Changes, and De-Installs including the following: store openings moves or relocations
  • Installations and De-installations related to equipment refresh, store expansion, new technology, or defective devices.
  • Configuration changes or enhancements to existing store devices.
If Smart Hands support is needed, Client requires someone is available from Nordstrom to assist the FE to troubleshoot issues.

Smart Hands support will be provided with remote guidance from Nordstrom IT resources or Third Party IT resources for the following:
  • UPS Client will perform scheduled dispatches that require Client presence when batteries are replaced. Client does not replace batteries, this activity will be performed by the UPS vendor.
  • LRE support (Under 10 stores)
  • Digital Display Technology Touch Kiosks
  • Monogram PC - Software
  • SiaB server support ( Storage array, POS)
  • Restaurant Server
  • WiFi Controllers
  • Routers/Switches
  • LP Intellex / NVR Systems (Camera Recording Devices)

Smart Hands Support for Voice Support with remote guidance from the Nordstrom Enterprise Voice Team for the following:
  • PBX and Associated CSU's/Peripherals
o
  • Phone Stations
  • Audix/VM systems (Minimal) Voice does most of it
  • DSL Lines EMCS systems
  • Tie-Line Support
  • Engenious Phones cordless for LP
  • Wireless Phones Avaya / Spectralink
  • Emergency Phone Line Support (POTs lines)
o Elevator Phones
o Burglar Lines
o Fire Panel Lines
o EMCS Lines
  • Circuit NIU Issues
  • Structured Cabling Client will patch cables with RJ45 or RJ11 ends to the switches from the patch panels when labeled.
  • Un-rack Gateways and Ship Out Client will de-install gateways and detailed instructions will be given on exactly what is being un-racked, and packing/shipping materials with a return label will be onsite prior to the FE's arrival.
  • Broken Phones Client will perform break/fix on Incident tickets. The Nordstrom Service Experience Manager (SEM) should have an inventory of good phones at each store location and the Nordstrom Helpdesk will provide basic troubleshooting prior to an FE dispatch. The store SEM will send back any broken phones to the Nordstrom Depot and maintain a spares inventory.
  • Legacy Cabling, incoming cabling and punch downs Client can perform basic punch-down and toning with smarts hands assistance. Punch-down work should include action within the 66 and 110 block as well as MPOE (Main point of entry) as well as basic toning. Nordstrom will provide all toning and punch down tools at the store prior to ticket dispatch and be available for support once the FE reaches the site. If the Client FE cannot perform the above task(s), a low voltage vendor will need to be contacted by Nordstrom.
  • All other Voice/ECG issues not covered by Client will be handled by Nordstrom Voice contractors such as:
    • Paging/Night Bell Issues
    • Analog Phone/FaxLine Issues
    • Consolidating Digital and Analog Ports




POS System Support (TPOS, MPOS, RPOS)
  • Facilitate in store whole unit swap (on multiple builds and configurations) or field replaceable Lenovo components (hard drive, fan and memory); spare units and components provided by Nordstrom for the following:
    • Tiny PC
    • Verifone E355 devices
    • Scanners
    • Verfione Payment Terminals
    • LP Security Alert Printer
    • Caf Hot/Cold Kitchen Printer
    • MPOS Printers Stand Alone Units
    • MPOS Cash Drawer Printer/Drawer install and Support
    • Charging Stations
    • Cash Wraps Adds/moves/changes
    • iPods-Mobiles
  • Initiate OS - Reimage with Nordstrom Store Technology Team after troubleshooting and validating the need to re-image.
  • Application Release Support for remediating incidents with devices that cannot be resolved remotely by the Nordstrom Store Technology Team
  • Installs, Moves, Adds, Changes, and De-Installs including the following:
    • Store openings, closings, and moves or relocations
    • Installations and De-installations related to equipment refresh, store expansion, new technology, or defective devices.
  • Configuration changes or enhancements to existing POS store devices.
Inventory Control Devices
  • Facilitate in store whole unit swap or Zebra field replaceable component swaps for hardware repairs with spare units and components provided by Nordstrom (Multiple builds and configurations) for the following:
    • HHTs
  • Batteries/ Chargers, troubleshooting
  • WiFi Access Points
  • Zebra Carton Label Printers
  • Reticket Printers: Zebra Sim Wireless, Zebra RSS and Zebra Mfill
  • Smart Hands Physical Inventory Network/Phone Line Setup/testing support check the port with guidance from Nordstrom Telecom/Network TEams
  • Application Support Reticket Applications troubleshoot .net framework
  • Application Release Support for remediating incidents with devices that cannot be resolved remotely by the Nordstrom Store Technology Team
  • Installs, Moves, Adds, Changes, and De-Installs including the following:
    • Store openings, closings, and moves or relocations
    • Installations and De-installations related to equipment refresh, store expansion, new technology, or defective devices.
  • Configuration changes or enhancements to existing Inventory Control Devices

Miscellaneous Device Support
  • Facilitate in store whole unit swap or field replaceable components for hardware repairs with spare units and components provided by Nordstrom (Multiple builds and configurations) for the following:
  • iPads whole unit replacement
  • Network Printers parts provided by Kelley Imaging
    • Client is responsible for the connectivity issues on Multifunction and Network printers. Client will confirm printers are online (IP network information, pinging, patched, port configuration, driver and printer queue cleared).
  • Copy Machines - parts provided by Kelley Imaging
    • Client is responsible for the connectivity issues on Multifunction and Network printers. Client will confirm printers are online (IP network information, pinging, patched, port configuration, driver and printer queue cleared, scan and fax capabilities).
  • iShip PC Networking Logistics parts provided by UPS
  • TE Shipping Workstations Logistics whole unit and/or Lenovo component swap of hard drive, fan and memory.
  • Printronix Printers located at Store 770 (Arizona) and Store 260 (Illinois) Client to provide field replaceable swaps on parts that are available from Nordstrom.
  • Monogram PC whole unit and/or Lenovo component swap of hard drive, fan and memory.
  • Digital Display Technology Touch kiosks whole unit and/or Lenovo component swap of hard drive, fan and memory.
  • Sign Shop PC/Fonts RACK whole unit and/or Lenovo component swap of hard drive, fan and memory.
  • Glory Cash Room PC whole unit and/or Lenovo component swap of hard drive, fan and memory.
o Printer equipment supplied by Glory
o Currency Counter equipment supplied by Glory
